The change ddp optimize command is used to enable or disable the deduplication and compression optimization function.

change ddp optimize optimize_type=? optimize_enabled=? controller=?

optimize_type=? Optimization type.

Possible values include "deduplication_in_transaction", "deduplication_in_blocks", "compression_in_blocks", and "intelligent_compression_in_blocks", where:

  • "deduplication_in_transaction": to query duplicate data in one transaction.
  • "deduplication_in_blocks": to query duplicate data in multiple blocks.
  • "compression_in_blocks": to compress multiple blocks.
  • "intelligent_compression_in_blocks": to intelligently compress multiple blocks.
  • "compression_pre_judge": to pre-judge compression.
  • "deduplication_overwriting_filter": to filter overwriting I/Os.
  • "deduplication_random_io_filter": to filter random small I/Os.
optimize_enabled=? Optimization enabled.

Possible values include "yes" and "no".

Usage Guidelines

  • You can use the command to tune the performance of the deduplication and compression function of file systems and LUNs.
  • When runnning this command, specify a controller ID.

  • Enable the optimization function of searching for duplicate data in one transaction.

    developer:/>change ddp optimize optimize_type=deduplication_in_transaction optimize_enabled=yes controller=0A
    Command executed successfully.
  • Enable the combination compression optimization function.

    developer:/>change ddp optimize optimize_type=compression_in_blocks optimize_enabled=yes controller=0A
    CAUTION: You are about to enable the combination compression function.
    After performing this operation, the compression may fail to save space.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, contact technical support engineers.
