This document is applicable to OceanStor 2800 V5. Routine maintenance activities are the most common activities for the storage device, including powering on or off the storage device, managing users, modifying basic parameters of the storage device, and managing hardware components. This document is intended for the system administrators who are responsible for carrying out routine maintenance activities, monitoring the storage device, and rectifying common device faults.

Removing a VM Service Port

This operation enables you to remove a VM service port.


At least one VM exists in the storage system.


  1. Go to the CLI.
  2. On the CLI, run the remove virtual_machine port vm_id=? vm_port_id=? command. Table 5-42 describes the related parameters.

    ID of a VM

    To obtain the value, run the show virtual_machine general command without parameters.

    To obtain the value, run the show virtual_machine port command without parameters.

  3. Confirm that all required parameters are correctly configured.


Remove a physical port that has been added to a VM.

admin:/>remove virtual_machine port vm_id=1 vm_port_id=131328 
WARNING: You are about to remove a port from a virtual machine. This operation will interrupt the related communication service on the virtual machine. 
Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that you have selected the correct virtual machine and port.
