This document is applicable to OceanStor 2800 V5. Routine maintenance activities are the most common activities for the storage device, including powering on or off the storage device, managing users, modifying basic parameters of the storage device, and managing hardware components. This document is intended for the system administrators who are responsible for carrying out routine maintenance activities, monitoring the storage device, and rectifying common device faults.

Viewing and Handling Alarms

Detailed descriptions and troubleshooting suggestions are provided to each alarm in the list for convenient fault rectification.


Exported alarms and events are saved in *.tgz (Save All) or *.xls (Save Selected) file. Do not change the content of the file.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Monitor > Alarms and Events > Current Alarms.
  3. (Optional) Set Occurred At to All or Custom based on site requirements.
  4. (Optional) Set search criteria and click Search to search for desired alarms.
  5. Select an alarm and handle it by taking actions described in Suggestion.
  6. (Optional) Clear alarms.

    1. In the alarm list, select the alarms that you want to clear and click Clear.
    2. In the security alert dialog box that is displayed, click OK.
    3. In the Execution Result dialog box that is displayed, click Close.

  7. (Optional) Export alarms.

    Click Save As > Save All or select the alarms that you want to export and click Save As > Save Selected. In the dialog box that is displayed, perform operations as prompted.

  8. (Optional) Click Send Simulated Alarm to simulate the reporting of a fault alarm.

    Send this simulated alarm to test the alarm function of the device. If this simulated alarm already exists, this alarm will be considered invalid after being resent. Before the test, confirm that this simulated alarm has been manually cleared. After the test, manually clear the alarm.
