Usage Guidelines

OceanStor 18500 V5/18800 V5 storage systems support this command.

Example

  • Create the Atime-based file policy for the file system.
    admin:/>create file_system_tier_policy file_system_id=0 policy_name=policy_01 target_storage_medium=SSD time_type=access_time time_logic=greater time=365D

DANGER: You are about to configure the Atime-based SmartTier policy for the file system.
This operation may cause the frequently accessed files on the file system to be relocated and the speed of accessing the relocated files to be slow when automatic update of Atime is not enabled.
If the relocation task is running, this operation will stop the relocation. If the task Schedule Type is not Immediately, it can be executed only in the next period. If the task Schedule Type is Immediately, it must be manually triggered.
Suggestion: Before performing this operation, check whether automatic update of Atime needs to be enabled for the file system. If yes, enable it. Wait for a period of time and enable the Atime-based policy after the file Atime is updated.
Have you read danger alert message carefully?(y/n)y
Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y
    Command executed successfully.
  • Create the file name-based file policy for the file system.
    admin:/>create file_system_tier_policy file_system_id=0 policy_name=policy_01 target_storage_medium=HDD file_name_logic=match file_name=my_test_file.txt:my_test.pdf
CAUTION: You are about to create a SmartTier file policy for the file system. If the relocation task is running, this operation will stop the relocation. If the task Schedule Type is not Immediately, it can be executed only in the next period. If the task Schedule Type is Immediately, it must be manually triggered.
