Function

The create cache_partition command is used to create a cache partition.

Format

create cache_partition name=? storage_engine_id=? expect_read_size=? expect_write_size=?

name=?

Cache partition name.

The value contains 1 to 31 characters including digits, letters, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.).

storage_engine_id=?

ID of an engine where a cache partition resides.

To obtain the value, run "show storage_engine".

expect_read_size=?

Desired cache read capacity.

The value is an integer multiple of 128, ranging from 256 to 67,108,864, expressed in MB.

expect_write_size=?

Desired cache write capacity.

The value is an integer multiple of 128, ranging from 256 to 67,108,864, expressed in MB.

Example

Create cache partition "Cache_001" on engine "0" and set the desired cache read and write capacities to "512MB" and "512MB" respectively. The ID and output vary depending on a specific product.

admin:/>create cache_partition name=Cache_001 storage_engine_id=0 expect_read_size=512 expect_write_size=512 
CAUTION: You are about to create SmartPartition.  
This operation may affect the performance of LUN or file system.
