create lun_copy remote

create lun_copy remote

The create lun_copy remote command is used to create remote logical unit number (LUN) copy tasks, where the employed remote devices must be from Huawei.

create lun_copy remote name=? local_role=? lun_id=? remote_device_id=? remote_lun_id=? [ copy_speed=? ] [ is_target_lun_check=? ]

name=? Name of a LUN copy.

The value contains 1 to 31 characters including digits, letters, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).

local_role=? Role of a local LUN.

The value is case-sensitive and can be:

  • "source": The local LUN is the source LUN.
  • "destination": The local LUN is the target LUN.
The value can only be "source" in the vStore view.
lun_id=? ID of a local LUN.

To obtain the value, run "show lun general".

remote_device_id=? ID of a remote device.

To obtain the value, run "show remote_device general".

remote_lun_id=? ID of a remote LUN.

To obtain the value, run "show remote_lun general".

copy_speed=? Speed of a LUN copy task.

The value can be:

  • "Low": indicates the low copy speed.
  • "Middle": indicates the medium copy speed.
  • "High": indicates the high copy speed.
  • "Highest": indicates the highest copy speed.
The default value is "Middle".
is_target_lun_check=? Indicates whether to check the target LUN. This command can only be executed in developer mode. For details about how to log in to developer mode, see Advanced O&M Command Reference.

The value can be:

  • "yes": The target LUN will be checked.
  • "no": The target LUN will not be checked.
The default value is "yes".

Usage Guidelines

  • The data of a source LUN overwrites that of a target LUN upon the start of a LUN copy task.
  • Before running this command, ensure that the selected source and target LUNs are exactly the ones you want to use for a LUN copy task, and that no host is accessing the target LUN.
  • Either the source or the target LUN must be on a local device for a single LUN copy task.
  • The capacity of a target LUN must be no less than that of a source LUN for a single LUN copy task.
  • Different LUN copy tasks cannot share the same target LUN.

Create a remote LUN copy, where the name of the LUN copy is "test", the source LUN is local LUN "1", and the target LUN is LUN "2" on the specified remote device "0".

admin:/>create lun_copy remote name=test local_role=source lun_id=1 remote_device_id=0 remote_lun_id=2 copy_speed=High
WARNING: You are about to build a LUN copy relationship between source LUN and target LUN. After this operation, the data on the target LUN will be overwritten by the data on the source LUN.
Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that the selected source and target LUNs are correct, and the target LUN is not being read or written by hosts.
