change clone synchronize

change clone synchronize

Function

The change clone synchronize command is used to synchronize data between the primary LUN and a specified secondary LUN in a specified clone.

Format

change clone synchronize { clone_id=? lun_id=? | pair_id_list=? }

Parameters

Parameter

Description

Value

clone_id=? ID of the clone to be synchronized.

To obtain the value, run "show clone general".

lun_id=? ID of a secondary LUN.

To obtain the value, run "show clone secondary_lun".

pair_id_list=? Pair ID list.

To obtain the value, run "show clone secondary_lun".

To consistently synchronize pairs, separate the IDs of those pairs by commas (,), or ID range by hyphens (-), such as: 0,5-8.

A maximum of 8192 pairs can be synchronized at a time.

The value of a pair ID ranges from 0 to 16383.

Level

Administrator

Usage Guidelines

This operation will copy the data on the primary LUN to a secondary LUN to overwrite the original data.

Example

  • In clone "3", synchronize the data of the primary LUN to secondary LUN "9".

    admin:/>change clone synchronize clone_id=3 lun_id=9
DANGER: You are about to synchronize secondary LUN of clone. This operation will overwrite data on the secondary LUN with that on the primary LUN. For the non-immediately available clone, the secondary LUN will become read-only or cannot be read or written, which may affect services on the secondary LUN.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation:
    1. Ensure that you have correctly selected the secondary LUN, preventing it from being overwritten by mistake.
    2. Ensure that no service is running on the secondary LUN, preventing the impact on services after synchronization.
Have you read danger alert message carefully?(y/n)y
Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y
    Command executed successfully.
  • Perform consistency synchronization for the clones whose pair IDs are 0 and 1.

    admin:/>change clone synchronize pair_id_list=0,1
CAUTION: You are about to synchronize clone pairs. This operation will copy data from the primary LUNs of multiple clone pairs to the secondary LUNs at the same time. Data on the secondary LUNs will be overwritten by data on the primary LUNs, which may affect services on the secondary LUNs.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation:
    1. Ensure that you have correctly selected the clone pairs, preventing the secondary LUNs from being overwritten by mistake.
    2. Ensure that no service is running on the secondary LUNs, preventing the impact on services after synchronization.
    Do you wish to continue?(y/n)y
    Command executed successfully.
