This document is applicable to OceanStor 18500 V5, 18800 V5, 18500F V5, and 18800F V5 storage systems. It describes hardware installation of those storage systems for helping you easily and quickly finish the installation.

add clone secondary_lun

Function

The add clone secondary_lun command is used to add the target LUN for the primary LUN to create a pair for a clone.

Format

add clone secondary_lun clone_id=? lun_id=? { create_target_lun_enable=? | initial_synchronization=? | synchronization_rate=? | recovery_policy=? | second_lun_access=? } *

clone_id=? Clone ID.

To obtain the value, run "show clone general".

lun_id=? ID of the secondary LUN to be added.

To obtain the value, run "show lun general".

initial_synchronization=? Whether or not to implement initial synchronization for a newly added secondary LUN.

The value can be:

  • "yes": Initial synchronization will be performed.
  • "no": Initial synchronization will not be performed.
The default value is "yes".
synchronization_rate=? Synchronization rate.

The value can be:

  • "Low": indicates the low rate.
  • "Middle": indicates the medium rate.
  • "High": indicates the high rate.
  • "Highest": indicates the highest rate.
The default value is "Middle".
recovery_policy=? Recovery policy.

The value can be:

  • "manual": indicates manual recovery.
  • "automatic": indicates automatic recovery.
The default value is "automatic".
create_target_lun_enable Whether to automatically create a matched target LUN for the source LUN of a LUN clone.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": automatically creates a target LUN that matches the source LUN.
  • "no": selects a LUN as the target LUN for a LUN clone. The value of "lun_id" must be a LUN ID that exists in the system.
The default value is "no".
second_lun_access=? Read and write attributes of the secondary LUN.

The value can be:

  • "read_only": The secondary LUN can only be read.
  • "none": The secondary LUN cannot be read or written.
The default value is "read_only".

Usage Guidelines

  • The "add clone secondary_lun clone_id=? lun_id=?" command is used to add a target LUN to the created clone. Before using this command, ensure that the target LUN has been created.
  • The "add clone secondary_lun clone_id=? lun_id=? create_target_lun_enable=? initial_synchronization=? synchronization_rate=? recovery_policy=? second_lun_access=?"command is used to automatically create a target LUN matching the source LUN or manually select a target LUN for a clone, and specify the clone's initial synchronization, synchronization rate, recovery policy, and access permission to the target LUN.

Example

Add secondary LUN "14" to clone "0".
