create lun_destroy_data

Function

The create lun_destroy_data command is used to create LUN destruction data.

Format

create lun_destroy_data lun_id=? [ destroy_type=? ] [ write_count=? ]

Parameters

lun_id=?

LUN ID.

Run the "show lun general" command without parameters to obtain the value.

destroy_type=?

Destruction type.

The value can be:

  • dod_erasement: DoD.
  • rep_erasement: user-defined repeated write.

The default value is dod_erasement.

write_count=?

This parameter can be set only when the destruction type is rep_erasement.

The value is an integer between 3 and 99, and the default value is 7.

Usage Guidelines

  • Run the "create lun_destroy_data lun_id=?" command to create destruction data of a specified LUN.
  • Run the "create lun_destroy_data lun_id=? destroy_type=? write_count=?" command to create destruction data of a specified LUN.

Example

  • Creates dod_erasement LUN destruction data.
    admin:/>create lun_destroy_data lun_id=0 
    WARNING: You are about to erase data on LUN. 
    This operation will erase all data on the LUN. 
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that data on the LUN has been backed up or is allowed to be erased. 
    Have you read warning message carefully?(y/n)y 
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y 
    Command executed successfully.
  • Creates rep_erasement LUN destruction data and sets write_count to 9.
    admin:/>create lun_destroy_data lun_id=0 destroy_type=rep_erasement write_count=9 
    WARNING: You are about to erase data on LUN. 
    This operation will erase all data on the LUN. 
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that data on the LUN has been backed up or is allowed to be erased.
