name=?

Indicates the file system name.

  • The value consists of 1 to 255 ASCII characters including numbers, letters, and underscores (_).
  • To batch create file systems (when "number=?" is specified), the names will be automatically generated. A four-digit number starting from 0000 will be added to a specified name. For example, if the specified name is "FS", the names of the newly created file systems are "FS0000", "FS0001", and so on.
NOTE:

The specified "name=?" cannot exceed 251 characters.

pool_id=?

Indicates the ID of the owning storage pool of the file system.

Run the "show storage_pool general" command to obtain the value.

initial_distribute_policy=?

Indicates the initial space allocation policy.

The value can be "automatic", "extreme_performance", "performance", or "capacity", where:

  • "automatic": The system allocates space to the file system based on the available space on each storage tier.
  • "extreme_performance": The space is first allocated from the high-performance tier.
  • "performance": The space is first allocated from the performance tier.
  • "capacity": The space is first allocated from the capacity tier.

The default value is "automatic".

capacity=?

Indicates the capacity of the file system. This parameter must be assigned when "alloc_type=?" is set to "thick". When you create a thin file system and do not specify its capacity, its capacity is 16384 TB by default.

  • The value can be "capacity+unit". The unit can be MB, GB, TB, or Blocks.
  • The value ranges from 1 GB to 16,384 TB.
  • One block equals 512 bytes.

file_system_id=?

Indicates the file system ID.

The value is an integer between 0 and 65535. If the value is not specified, the system automatically allocates an ID of the newly created file system.

alloc_type=?

Indicates the allocation type of the file system.

The value can be "thick" or "thin", where:

  • "thick": When thick file systems are created, fixed capacity is allocated to them.
  • "thin": Capacity of thin file systems will be automatically expanded when the capacity is about to be used up. The capacity cannot exceed the threshold (specified by the "capacity" parameter).

The default value is "thin".

number=?

Indicates the number of file systems that are batch created. If this parameter is specified, the "file_system_id=?" parameter cannot be specified.

The value ranges from 2 to 100. The default value is 1.

owner_controller=?

Indicates the owning controller of the file system.

The value is in the format of "XA", "XB", "XC", or "XD", where "X" indicates an integer from "0" to "3".

io_priority=?

Indicates the I/O priority.

The value can be "Low", "Middle", or "High", where:

  • "Low": indicates the low priority.
  • "Middle": indicates the medium priority.
  • "High": indicates the high priority.

The default value is "Low".

compression_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the compression function.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable the compression function.
  • "no": not to enable the compression function.

The default value is "no".

compression_method=?

Indicates the compression algorithm of the file system.

The value can be "fast" or "deep", where:

  • "fast": fast compression.
  • "deep": deep compression.

The default value is "fast".

dedup_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the deduplication function.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable the deduplication function.
  • "no": not to enable the deduplication function.

The default value is "no".

bytecomparison_enabled=?

Indicates whether the byte_by_byte comparison function is enabled.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": The byte_by_byte comparison function will be enabled.
  • "no": The byte_by_byte comparison function will not be enabled.

The default is "no".

sub_type=?

Type of a file system.

The value is "normal" or "worm". The default type is "normal".

worm_type=?

WORM type of a file system.

The value is "compliance" or "enterprise".

min_protect_period=?

Minimum protection period.

The value is greater than or equal to 0, and is less than 70. If the value is not specified, the protection period is eternal. The default value is 3.

min_protect_period_unit=?

Unit of the minimum protection period.

The unit can be year, month, or day. The default unit is year.

max_protect_period=?

Maximum protection period.

The value ranges between 0 and 70. If the value is not specified, the protection period is eternal. The default value is 70.

max_protect_period_unit=?

Unit of the maximum protection period.

The unit can be year, month, or day. The default unit is year.

default_protect_period=?

Default protection period.

The value ranges between 0 and 70. If the value is not specified, the protection period is eternal. The default value is 70.

default_protect_period_unit=?

Unit of the default protection period.

The unit can be year, month, or day. The default unit is year.

auto_lock_enabled=?

Whether to enable automatic lock.

The value is "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable automatic lock.
  • "no": not to enable automatic lock. The default value is "yes".

auto_lock_time=?

Automatic locking wait time.

The value ranges between 2 and 168. The default value is 2. The default unit is hour.

auto_lock_time_unit=?

Unit of the automatic locking wait time.

The unit can be hour or day. The default unit is hour.

auto_delete_enabled=?

Whether to enable automatic deletion.

The value is "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable automatic deletion.
  • "no": not to enable automatic deletion. The default value is "no".

checksum_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the checksum function.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable the checksum function.
  • "no": not to enable the checksum function.

The default value is "yes".

atime_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the atime function.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable the atime function.
  • "no": not to enable the atime function.

show_enabled=?

Indicates whether to show the snapshot directory.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to show the snapshot directory.
  • "no": not to show the snapshot directory.

auto_delete_snapshot_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the function of automatically deleting timing snapshots.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable the function of automatically deleting timing snapshots.
  • "no": not to enable the function of automatically deleting timing snapshots.

timing_snapshot_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the timing snapshot function.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable the timing snapshot function.
  • "no": not to enable the timing snapshot function.

block_size=?

Indicates the size of the file system block.

The value can be "4 KB", "8 KB", "16 KB", "32 KB", or "64 KB" with "64 KB" being the default.

16 KB is recommended for enabling the data deduplication/compression function.

capacity_threshold=?

Indicates the capacity alarm threshold of the file system. When the consumed capacity in the file system exceeds the threshold, alarms will be reported.

  • The value is a percentage (an integer).
  • The value ranges from 50 to 95.

snapshot_reserve=?

Indicates the proportion of reserved snapshots.

  • The value is a percentage. The percentage must be an integer.
  • The value ranges from 0 to 50.

timing_snapshot_max_number=?

Indicates the maximum number of timing snapshots.

The value ranges from 1 to 2048 with 21 being the default.

smart_cache_state=?

Indicates whether to enable the smart cache function.

The value is "on" or "off", where:

  • "off": not to enable the smart cache function.
  • "on": to enable the smart cache function. The default value is "off".

intelligent_dedup_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the intelligent deduplication function.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": to enable the intelligent deduplication function.
  • "no": not to enable the intelligent deduplication function.

The default value is "yes".

dedup_metadata_sample_ratio=?

Indicates the deduplication metadata sample ratio.

The value can be "1", "2", "4", "8", "16", or "32". A larger sample ratio means a smaller impact on performance. However, the ratio of space saved by deduplication may be affected.

application_scenario=?

Application scenario of the file system.

  • This parameter cannot be used together with block_size.
  • The parameter value can be "database" or "virtual_machine".

space_self_adjusting_mode=?

Sets the automatic capacity adjustment mode.

The value can be "off", "grow", or "grow_shrink", where:

  • "off": disables the automatic capacity adjustment function.
  • "grow": enables the automatic capacity adjustment function. Only automatic expansion is supported.
  • "grow_shrink": enables the automatic capacity adjustment function. Automatic expansion and reduction are supported. The default value is "off".

autosize_enable=?

Switch of automatic capacity adjustment.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "no": does not enable automatic capacity adjustment.
  • "yes": enables automatic capacity adjustment.

The default value is "yes".

auto_shrink_threshold_percent=?

Percentage threshold that triggers the automatic reduction.

  • The value is a percentage (an integer).
  • The value ranges from 1 to 99.

The default value is 50.

auto_grow_threshold_percent=?

Percentage threshold that triggers the automatic expansion.

  • The value is a percentage (an integer).
  • The value ranges from 1 to 99.

The default value is 85.

min_autosize=?

Lower limit of the automatic reduction.

  • The value is "capacity+unit". The unit can be MB, GB, TB, or Blocks.
  • The value ranges from 1 GB to 16384 TB.
  • One block is equal to 512 bytes. The default value is the total capacity of the file system.

autosize_increment=?

Capacity change of a single expansion/reduction.

  • The value is "capacity+unit". The unit can be MB or GB.
  • The value ranges from 64 MB to 100 GB.

The default value is 1 GB.

max_autosize=?

Upper limit of the automatic expansion.

  • The value is "capacity+unit". The unit can be MB, GB, TB, or Blocks.
  • The value ranges from 1 GB to 16384 TB.
  • One block is equal to 512 bytes. The default value is 1.2 times the total capacity of the file system.

space_recycle_mode=?

Capacity recycle mode.

The value can be "autosize_first" or "delete_snap_first", where:

  • "autosize_first": Automatic expansion is preferred.
  • "delete_snap_first": Automatic snapshot deletion is preferred.

The default value is "autosize_first".

ssd_capacity_upper_limit_of_user_data=?

SSD capacity upper limit of user data.

  • The value is in the format of "capacity value+unit of capacity". The unit can be MB, GB, TB, or Blocks.
  • The value ranges from 1 GB to the total capacity of the file system.
  • One block equals 512 bytes.

description=?

File system description.

The value contains 1 to 255 characters.

alternate_data_streams_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the alternate data streams function.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": To enable the alternate data streams function.
  • "no": Not to enable the alternate data streams function.

long_filename_enabled=?

Indicates whether to enable the long file name function.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": To enable the long file name function.
  • "no": Not to enable the long file name function.

security_style=?

Security style supported by a file system.

The value can be "Mixed" or "Native", where:

  • "Mixed": mixed security style.
  • "Native": native security style.

Usage Guidelines

  • The units of "max_protect_period=?", "default_protect_period=?", and "min_protect_period=?" can be specified only when the parameters are specified.
  • The WORM parameters can be specified only when the "snub_type" is specified to WORM.
  • When you create a thin file system and do not specify its capacity, its capacity is 16384 TB by default.
  • After a storage pool is created, allocate the space in the storage pool to one or multiple file systems so that application servers can use the storage resources properly.

  • Create a file system whose name is fs001, storage pool ID is 0, capacity is 10 GB, and allocation type is thick.
