change snapshot restore

change snapshot restore

The change snapshot restore command is used to restore data using snapshots. You can restore the data of a source logical unit number (LUN) to that of an existing snapshot by running this command.

change snapshot restore snapshot_id=? [ restore_speed=? ]

snapshot_id=? ID of a snapshot.

To obtain the value, run "show snapshot general".

restore_speed=? Restoration rate.

The value can be:

  • "Low": low rate.
  • "Middle": medium rate.
  • "High": high rate.
  • "Highest": highest rate.
The default value is "Middle".

Usage Guidelines

  • Running this command overwrites the data of a source LUN using that of an existing snapshot.
  • Before running this command, ensure that the data of the selected snapshot is exactly the data you want to restore to a source LUN and that the source LUN has been backed up.
  • You can restore a public snapshot that is in the activated state only. To query the type and status of the snapshot, run "show snapshot general".

Restore the data of a source LUN to that of snapshot "7" at the medium restoration rate.

admin:/>change snapshot restore snapshot_id=7 restore_speed=Middle
DANGER: You are about to use snapshot to roll back source LUN. This operation will overwrite data on the source LUN with that on the snapshot. Before performing this operation, ensure that the source LUN is not being read or written by hosts and no data is saved on the cache of hosts.
1. Before performing this operation, back up the data on the source LUN.
2. Ensure that the free capacity of the storage pool is larger than the capacity occupied by the source LUN.
