change lun_copy session

Function

The change lun_copy session command is used to start, pause, continue, or stop LUN copy tasks.

Format

change lun_copy session lun_copy_id=? operation=?

Parameters

lun_copy_id=?

ID of a LUN copy task.

To obtain the value, run "show lun_copy general".

operation=?

Operation type.

The value can be "start", "stop", "pause", or "continue", where:

  • "start": A LUN copy task will be started.
  • "stop": A LUN copy task will be stopped.
  • "pause": A LUN copy task will be paused.
  • "continue": A LUN copy task will be resumed. The progress of a paused LUN copy task will be retained by the storage system.

Example

  • Start LUN copy of LUN "0".
    admin:/>change lun_copy session lun_copy_id=0 operation=start 
    DANGER: You are about to copy the data from source LUN to target LUN. This operation will affect service continuity on the source LUN and data on the target LUN will be overwritten by the data on the source LUN. 
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that: 
    1. All services on the source LUN and target LUN have been stopped. Otherwise, the host automatically does not have the permission to write the source LUN during the copy. As a result, host services are abnormal. 
    2. The information about the LUN copy is correct. 
    Have you read danger alert message carefully?(y/n)y 
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y 
    Command executed successfully
  • Stop LUN copy of LUN "0".
    admin:/>change lun_copy session lun_copy_id=0 operation=stop 
    WARNING: You are about to stop copying data from source LUN to target LUN. This operation may cause the data on the target LUN unavailable. 
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that the information about the LUN copy to be stopped is correct. 
    Have you read warning message carefully?(y/n)y 
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y
