This document is applicable to OceanStor 18500 V5, 18800 V5, 18500F V5, and 18800F V5. Based on the CLI, this document describes how to use various commands classified by functionsand how to set the CLI and manage the storage system through these commands.

Function

The switch command is used to switch serial ports. You can switch to the serial ports of the management board BMC, control board BMC, and control board OS.

x86 system: 3 U devices: 1. In automatic mode, the value is a or b, where:

  • a: switches to the OS serial port of controller A.
  • b: switches to the OS serial port of controller B.
2. In manual mode, the value is ao, bo, ab, bb, or mgt, where:
  • ao: switches to the OS serial port of controller A.
  • bo: switches to the OS serial port of controller B.
  • ab: switches to the BMC serial port of controller A.
  • bb: switches to the BMC serial port of controller B.
  • mgt: switches to the BMC serial port of the management board.
6 U devices: 1. In automatic mode, the value is a, b, c, or d, where:
  • a: switches to the OS serial port of controller A.
  • b: switches to the OS serial port of controller B.
  • c: switches to the OS serial port of controller C.
  • d: switches to the OS serial port of controller D.
2. In manual mode, the value is ao, bo, co, do, ab, bb, cb, db, or mgt, where:
  • ao: switches to the OS serial port of controller A.
  • bo: switches to the OS serial port of controller B.
  • co: switches to the OS serial port of controller C.
  • do: switches to the OS serial port of controller D.
  • ab: switches to the BMC serial port of controller A.
  • bb: switches to the BMC serial port of controller B.
  • cb: switches to the BMC serial port of controller C.
  • db: switches to the BMC serial port of controller D.
  • mgt: switches to the BMC serial port of the management board.
ARM system: 2 U devices: 1. In manual mode, the value is os or bmc, where:
  • os: switches to the OS serial port of controller.
  • bmc: switches to the BMC serial port of controller.
4 U devices: 1. In automatic mode, the value is a, b, c, or d, where:
  • a: switches to the OS serial port of controller A.
  • b: switches to the OS serial port of controller B.
  • c: switches to the OS serial port of controller C.
  • d: switches to the OS serial port of controller D.
2. In manual mode, the value is ao, bo, co, do, ab, bb, cb, or db, where:
  • ao: switches to the OS serial port of controller A.
  • bo: switches to the OS serial port of controller B.
  • co: switches to the OS serial port of controller C.
  • do: switches to the OS serial port of controller D.
  • ab: switches to the BMC serial port of controller A.
  • bb: switches to the BMC serial port of controller B.

Usage Guidelines

1. Serial ports on management board A can be switched to serial ports on controller B/D or those on management board A.

2. Serial ports on management board B can be switched to serial ports on controller A/C or those on management board B.

Example

  • Switch to the OS serial port of controller A manually on a 6 U management board. The command output varies depending on a specific product.
