import configuration_data

import configuration_data

The import configuration_data command is used to import the configuration file to a storage system. Important configuration information about components and services in the storage system is saved in the configuration file. You can recover a storage system by importing the previously exported configuration file.

import configuration_data ip=? user=? password=? db_file=? [ port=? ] [ protocol=? ]

ip=? Indicates the IP address of the FTP or SFTP server. The configuration file will be imported into the storage system through the FTP or SFTP server.

user=? Indicates the user name used to log in to the FTP or SFTP server.

The value contains 1 to 64 characters.

password=? Password used to log in to the FTP or SFTP server.

The value contains 1 to 64 characters.

db_file=? Path and file name of the configuration data file on the FTP or SFTP server.

The file name expansion must be .dat.

port=? Port ID on the FTP or SFTP server.

The value ranges from 1 to 65,535.

  • If protocol=FTP, the default value is 21.
  • If protocol=SFTP, the default value is 22.
protocol=? Transport protocol.

The value can be FTP or SFTP. The default is SFTP.

You are advised to use SFTP for higher data transfer security.

Usage Guidelines

  • The command can be used to import the configuration file only from an FTP or SFTP server into a storage system.
    • The storage system can access the FTP or SFTP server.
    • The FTP or SFTP service has been enabled on the server.
    • The folder for storing the configuration file has been created and the configuration file to be imported exists.
  • The file name expansion must be .dat, otherwise the file cannot be used to import the configuration file.
  • During the process of transferring files with external systems, if the storage system only serves as the server end, only SFTP service is supported. If the storage system serves as the client end, both FTP and SFTP are supported.
  • Run this command only when the configuration file has been exported using the export configuration_data command, the configuration file has not been modified, and the clear configuration_data command has not been used.
  • This command provides an interactive mode for entering passwords. The password will be displayed behind asterisks.
  • If the number of consecutively entered incorrect passwords reaches 3 within 5 minutes, the current session will be disconnected.

Import the configuration file into a storage system, where the IP address of the FTP server is, the user name is admin, the password is 123, the configuration file is saved in the root directory, the file name is yyy.dat, SFTP is used, and port 26 is used.

developer:/>import configuration_data ip= user=admin password=*** db_file=/yyy.dat protocol=SFTP port=26
DANGER: You are about to import the backup configuration data (model-version-time).
This operation causes the storage system to restart automatically. All running services on the storage system are interrupted.
Suggestion: Before you perform this operation, implement the following steps:
1. Ensure that the current configuration data has been backed up in the past 30 minutes. Otherwise, the command fails to be executed.
2. Ensure that the model and export time of the configuration data to be imported are correct.
3. Stop all running services on the system.
4. This command restores only the database configuration data. If storage services are modified after exporting the database configuration data, you cannot use this command to import the original database configuration data. Otherwise, storage services may fail and the storage system may fail to be started up.
