change file_system dedup_compress


The change file_system dedup_compress command is used to modify parameters related to deduplication and compression of a file system, including the compression switch, compression algorithm, deduplication switch, and byte-by-byte comparison switch.


change file_system dedup_compress file_system_id=? { compression_enabled=? | compression_method=? | dedup_enabled=? | intelligent_dedup_enabled=? | bytecomparison_enabled=? | dedup_metadata_sample_ratio=? | dedup_checksum_enabled=? } *






File system ID.

The value ranges from 0 to 65535.


Whether compression is enabled.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "no": Compression is disabled.
  • "yes": Compression is enabled.

The default value is "no".


File system compression method.

The value can be "fast" or "deep", where:

  • "fast": high performance.
  • "deep": high compression ratio.

The default value is "fast".


Whether deduplication is enabled.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "no": Deduplication is disabled.
  • "yes": Deduplication is enabled.

The default value is "no".


Whether the intelligent deduplication is enabled.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "no": The intelligent deduplication is disabled.
  • "yes": The intelligent deduplication is enabled.

The default value is "yes".


Whether byte_by_byte comparison is enabled.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "no": Byte_by_byte comparison is disabled.
  • "yes": Byte_by_byte comparison is enabled.

The default value is "no".


Indicates the deduplication metadata sample ratio.

The value can be "1", "2", "4", "8", "16", or "32". A larger sample ratio means a smaller impact on performance. However, the ratio of space saved by deduplication may be affected.


Indicates whether to enable the deduplication verification function. This parameter is valid only in developer mode. For details about how to go to the developer mode, see the Advanced O&M Command Reference.

The value can be "yes" (default) or "no", where:

  • "no": The deduplication verification function will be disabled.
  • "yes": The deduplication verification function will be enabled.

Usage Guidelines

  • You can specify the "compression_method" parameter only when "compression_enabled" is set to "yes".
  • You can specify the "intelligent_dedup_enabled", "bytecomparison_enabled", and "dedup_metadata_sample_ratio" parameters only when "dedup_enabled" is set to "yes".
