This document is applicable to OceanStor 5110 V5, 5110F V5, 5300 V5, 5500 V5, 5600 V5, 5800 V5, 6800 V5, 5300F V5, 5500F V5, 5600F V5, 5800F V5, and 6800F V5. Based on the CLI, this document describes how to use various commands classified by functionsand how to set the CLI and manage the storage system through these commands.

add storage_pool tier

Function

The add storage_pool tier command is used to add a storage tier to a storage pool.

Format

add storage_pool tier pool_id=? disk_type=? capacity=? [ raid_level=? ] [ tier_stripe_depth=? ] [ ignore_disk_capacity=? ]

pool_id=?

ID of a storage pool to which you want to add a storage tier.

To obtain the value, run "show storage_pool general".

disk_type=?

Type of a disk that you want to add.

The value can be "SAS", "NearLine_SAS", "SSD", "SAS_SED", "NearLine_SAS_SED", "SSD_SED", or "SATA", where:

  • "SAS": indicates serial attached SCSI (SAS) disks.
  • "NearLine_SAS": indicates near line SAS (NL-SAS) disks.
  • "SSD": indicates solid state drives (SSDs).
  • "SAS_SED": indicates serial attached SCSI (SAS) self-encrypting disks.
  • "NearLine_SAS_SED": indicates near line SAS (NL-SAS) self-encrypting disks.
  • "SSD_SED": indicates solid state self-encrypting drives.
  • "SATA": Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) disks.
NOTE:

The following describes the disk type supported by each storage tier:

  • Tier 0 (high performance tier): SSD or SSD_SED
  • Tier 1 (performance tier): SAS disk or SAS_SED
  • Tier 2 (capacity tier): NearLine_SAS disk, NearLine_SAS_SED or SATA disk

capacity=?

Capacity that you want to add.

The value is in the format of "capacity value + unit". The unit can be GB or TB.

The value ranges from 1 GB to 12864 TB.

raid_level=?

RAID level of a storage tier that you want to add.

The default value can be "RAID6-4", "RAID6-6", "RAID6-10", "RAID6-18", "RAID5-3", "RAID5-5", "RAID5-9", "RAID50-6", "RAID50-10", "RAID50-18", "RAID3-3", "RAID3-5", "RAID3-9", "RAID0", "RAID10", "RAID1-2", or "RAID1-4" and the non-default value can be "RAID3-N", "RAID5-N", or "RAID6-N", where:

  • "RAID6-4": indicates a RAID 6 group that contains four logical blocks (two data blocks and two parity blocks).
  • "RAID6-6": indicates a RAID 6 group that contains six logical blocks (four data blocks and two parity blocks).
  • "RAID6-10": indicates a RAID 6 group that contains ten logical blocks (eight data blocks and two parity blocks).
  • "RAID6-18": indicates a RAID 6 group that contains eighteen logical blocks (sixteen data blocks and two parity blocks).
  • "RAID5-3": indicates a RAID 5 group that contains three logical blocks (two data blocks and one parity block).
  • "RAID5-5": indicates a RAID 5 group that contains five logical blocks (four data blocks and one parity block).
  • "RAID5-9": indicates a RAID 5 group that contains nine logical blocks (eight data blocks and one parity block).
  • "RAID50-6": indicates a RAID 50 group that contains six logical blocks (four data blocks and two parity blocks).
  • "RAID50-10": indicates a RAID 50 group that contains ten logical blocks (eight data blocks and two parity blocks).
  • "RAID50-18": indicates a RAID 50 group that contains eighteen logical blocks (sixteen data blocks and two parity blocks).
  • "RAID3-3": indicates a RAID 3 group that contains three logical blocks (two data blocks and one parity block).
  • "RAID3-5": indicates a RAID 3 group that contains five logical blocks (four data blocks and one parity block).
  • "RAID3-9": indicates a RAID 3 group that contains nine logical blocks (eight data blocks and one parity block).
  • "RAID0": indicates a RAID 0 group whose number of logical blocks is automatically specified by the system.
  • "RAID10": indicates a RAID 10 group whose number of logical blocks is automatically specified by the system.
  • "RAID1-2": indicates a RAID 1 group that contains two logical blocks (the two logical blocks store the same data and mirror each other).
  • "RAID1-4": indicates a RAID 1 group that contains four logical blocks (the four logical blocks store the same data and mirror each other).
  • "RAID3-N": indicates a RAID 3 group that contains N logical blocks (3 <= N <= 14) (N-1 data blocks and one parity block)
  • "RAID5-N": indicates a RAID 5 group that contains N logical blocks (3 <= N <= 14) (N-1 data blocks and one parity block).
  • "RAID6-N": indicates a RAID 6 group that contains N logical blocks (4 <= N <= 28) (N-2 data blocks and two parity blocks).
NOTE:
  • The number of data blocks on each tier is 1X, 2X, 4X, and 8X.
  • You are advised to create RAID 6 groups on the capacity tier to ensure data security.

tier_stripe_depth=?

Stripe depth.

The value can be "32 KB", "64 KB", "128 KB", "256 KB", or "512 KB", where:

  • "32 KB": The stripe depth is 32 KB.
  • "64 KB": The stripe depth is 64 KB.
  • "128 KB": The stripe depth is 128 KB.
  • "256 KB": The stripe depth is 256 KB.
  • "512 KB": The stripe depth is 512 KB.

ignore_disk_capacity=?

Whether to ignore the disk capacity.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes":ignores the disk capacity.
  • "no":does not ignore the disk capacity. Check whether adding this storage tier will truncate the capacity of the disk domain.
