chgibcpasswd

chgibcpasswd

Function

The chgibcpasswd command is used to change the password of ibc_os_hs.

Format

chgibcpasswd

Parameters

None

Modes

serial port mode

Usage Guidelines

  • Change the ibc_os_hs password on each controller and ensure that the password is the same.Change the ibc_os_hs password on the primary controller first. If the password fails to be changed on a secondary controller, run ibcpasswd to initialize the password and reset the ibc_os_hs password. For details, see the ibcpasswd usage guidelines. Repeat the operations until the password is successfully changed.
  • After changing the password for an engine, you must change the password of user ibc_os_hs for the data switches. Otherwise, user functions are affected.
  • If the local boot disk is damaged, formatted, or fails to be mounted, the new ibc_os_hs password cannot be obtained. As a result, files fail to be transferred using the heartbeat port.
  • If a system rollback is implemented after the ibc_os_hs password is changed, the ibc_os_hs password may be restored to the default one, causing system startup failure.
  • This command is only available in serial port mode.
  • Periodically change the ibc_os_hs password to ensure password security.
  • For x86 without reinforced system permission, this command requires entering the old and new passwords of ibc_os_hs. For ARM64 and x86 with reinforced system permission, this command only requires entering the new password of ibc_os_hs. The new password must:
    • The password length ranges from 8 to 16 characters.
    • Contain any three of the following characters: one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, one digit, or one special character (`~!@#$%^&*()-_=+\|[{}];:"',<.>/?).
