This document is applicable to OceanStor 5110 V5, 5110F V5, 5300 V5, 5500 V5, 5600 V5, 5800 V5, 6800 V5, 5300F V5, 5500F V5, 5600F V5, 5800F V5, and 6800F V5. Based on the CLI, this document describes how to use various commands classified by functionsand how to set the CLI and manage the storage system through these commands.

change lun_background pre_allocate

Function

The change lun_background pre_allocate command is used to enable or disable LUN background pre-allocate function.

change lun_background pre_allocate enabled=?

The value can be start or stop.

Usage Guidelines

This command is applicable only to the local controller.

Example

  • To enable LUN background pre-allocate, run the following command:
    developer:/>change lun_background pre_allocate enabled=start 
    WARNING: You are about to modify the thick LUN pre-allocation function of this controller.If you set the value to "stop", the pre-allocation function will be disabled for all the thick LUNs on the controller, and thick LUNs generated afterwards will not be pre-allocated. This will degrade service performance. 
    Suggestion: Take note of the previously mentioned risks before executing the command. 
    Have you read warning message carefully?(y/n)y 
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y 
    Command executed successfully.
  • To disable LUN background pre-allocate, run the following command:
    developer:/>change lun_background pre_allocate enabled=stop 
    WARNING: You are about to modify the thick LUN pre-allocation function of this controller.If you set the value to "stop", the pre-allocation function will be disabled for all the thick LUNs on the controller, and thick LUNs generated afterwards will not be pre-allocated. This will degrade service performance.
