Client Self-Service Management (Windows TC)

Scenarios

This section describes how to log in to the HDP client, create local shortcuts, deregister applications, and configure the client.

Prerequisites

  • FusionAccess is running properly.
  • The HDP client has been installed locally.
  • The shared desktop and application have been provisioned and the account and password for logging in to the system have been assigned.
NOTE:

If the HDP client has not been installed locally, log in to the WI page and install the HDP client as prompted.

Data

Key data and parameters required for this task are described in the specific procedures.

Procedure

Log in to the HDP client.

  1. On Windows, choose Start > All Programs > AccessClient, and click HDPShareAppTray.

    The User Login window is displayed.

  2. Enter required information, as shown in Figure 5-5.

    NOTE:
    • If Remember Password is selected, you can log in to the HDP client through the created shortcut without inputting the password.
    • If you want to add, modify, or delete any tag, click Management.

    • Label: Enter the IP address of the server. For example, label 01 specifies the server whose IP address is 192.168.62.1.
      NOTE:

      Management: Click Management. The ManagementDialog window is displayed for specific operations.

      • Launch: Select a user corresponding to the current label for login.
      • Add: Add a new label. In the EditDialog window that is displayed, enter required information and click OK. If Set as default is selected, the label is used for login by default.
      • Edit: Edit the current label. In the EditDialog window that is displayed, enter required information and click OK. If Set as default is selected, the label is used for login by default.
      • Remove: Remove the current label. In the window that is displayed, click Yes.
      • Quit: Exit the current window.
    • Server Address: Enter fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or service plane IP address of the WI server. If FQDN is used, configure the IP address of the DNS server first.
    • Username: Enter the account for logging in to the system.
    • Password: Enter the password for logging in to the system.
    • Domain: Enter correct domain information in multi-domain scenarios, for example, vdesktop.huawei.com.

  3. Choose the label associated with the login user and exit the ManagementDialog window.
  4. Click login to log in to the HDP client.

Perform self-service management.

  1. Perform self-service management as required, as shown in Table 5-1.

    Creating local shortcuts

    1. On the taskbar of the OS, right-click and choose Remote Application Management.

      The Remote Application Management window is displayed, as shown in Figure 5-6.

    2. In the application list on the left, select the applications for which you want to create shortcuts.
      NOTE:

      In the application list on the left, double-click the row where an application resides to open the application.

    3. Based on actual requirements, select Start menu shortcut or Desktop shortcut, and click Create.
      • Start menu shortcut: Applications are collected in the App shortcut folder of the Start menu.
      • Desktop shortcut: Applications ate collected on the Windows desktop.

        A prompt is displayed on the taskbar, indicating that the shortcuts are successfully created.

    Deregistering session

    1. On the taskbar of the OS, right-click and choose SessionLogoutDialog.

      The SessionLogoutDialog window is displayed, as shown in Figure 5-7.

    2. In the session list on the left, select the session that you want to deregister based on actual requirements.
      • session: Share Desktop indicates the session of the shared desktop.
      • session: Remote App indicates the session of the remote application.
    3. Click Logout.

      The The remote server is logging out of the session, please wait... dialog box is prompted on the taskbar. Wait until the session is deregistered.

    NOTE:
    • The shared desktop occupies one session, and other applications are collected in session: Remote App session.
    • When session: Remote App is deregistered, all applications in the session are deregistered at the same time.

    Configuring the client

    1. On the taskbar of the OS, right-click and choose Configuration.
    2. The Configuration window is displayed, as shown in Figure 5-8. You can change the configuration as required.

      • Local IME(Input Method Editors)

        Enabled: The local input method is used.

        Disabled: The input method provided by the client is used.

      • Keyboard Redirection

        Local: Keyboard Redirection is enabled locally.

        Remote App: When the remote application focus is triggered, Keyboard Redirection is enabled for remote applications.

      • Update Key: Update encrypted and decrypted keys of the system.
      NOTE:

      Local IME(Input Method Editors) and Keyboard Redirection take effect globally.
