Scenarios

VM applications need to be added or updated in the following scenarios:

  • Applications are added to meet service requirements.
  • The application software is updated.

Select one of the following solutions based on the VM type and application scenario.

  • Install or update application software on the APS server: This solution is recommended when a few of APS servers exist.
  • Update VMs in a VM group using a template: This solution is recommended when a large number of APS servers exist.
  • Create a new template and publish applications using the new template: This solution is used only when a large number of applications need to be added or updated and new applications differ from existing applications in the users, scope, or other aspects.

Install or update application software on the APS server.

NOTE:

Applicable VM types:

  • Full copy/QuickPrep
  • Linked clone/Full memory
