Adding APS Servers

Adding APS Servers

Scenarios

When system resources are sufficient, add APS servers based on service requirements.

Prerequisites

  • VMs in a VM group have been assigned to users.

Data

Data preparation is not required for this operation.

Procedure

  1. On the FusionAccess Portal, choose Desktop > VM Group.
  2. Select a VM group and click Add VM.

    The Add VM page is displayed.

  3. Select the host to which the VM belongs from the Host drop-down list.
  4. Click Select next to VM template. In the displayed dialog box, select the created APS server template and click OK.
  5. Use the parameter values in the template or reconfigure the following parameters based on the actual requirements.

    • CPU
    • Memory (MB)
    NOTE:

    The preceding parameters are automatically associated with the parameter values set in the template. Configure the parameters as required.

  6. Configure other information of the VM based on the data plan.

    The VM naming rule specified for linked clone or full memory VMs cannot contain a domain account name.

    NOTE:

    Configure Local area and OU name for the APS server through System in advance.

  7. Click Finish.

    An information dialog box is displayed.

  8. Click Confirm.

    A dialog box is displayed indicating that the VMs are added.

  9. Click Return to VM Group.

    The VM group management page is displayed. You can view information about the created APS servers in the VM group list.

  10. On the FusionAccess Portal, choose Desktop > Application Group.
  11. In the application group list, select the application group to which APS servers are to be added, and click .
  12. Select APS server parameters. For details, see Table 3-4.

    VM naming (rule)

    A VM name consists of a prefix and a number sign (#). The prefix contains uppercase letters (A to Z), lowercase letters (a to z), digits (0 to 9), and hyphens (-) but cannot contain only digits. The prefix length cannot exceed 15 characters.

    Select a full copy VM group. On FusionAccess, full copy VM groups include two types, full copy and QuickPrep VM groups.

    Select the site where the VM locates. If the type of the selected VM group is Hosting Computer, you do not need to configure this parameter.

    If VM Type is Full Copy, the associated VM template must include two types of templates, Full Copy Template and Full Copy(Quick Prep) Template.

    VM Group

    Select a linked clone VM group.

    NOTE:

    The VMs of a linked clone or full memory application group must belong to the same VM group.
