Installing the Screw-in RAID Controller Card

Procedure

  1. Power off the server node.

    For details, see Power-Off Procedure.

  2. Remove the server node.

    For details, see Removing an XH321 V5.

  3. Place the server node on the ESD workstation.
  4. Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
  5. Check whether a supercapacitor is configured.

    • If yes, go to 6.
    • If no, go to 7.

  6. Install the supercapacitor.

    For details, see Installing the Supercapacitor.

  7. Determine the position of the screw-in RAID controller card.

  8. Install the RAID controller card.

    1. Insert the RAID controller card vertically into the connector on the mainboard. See (1) in Figure 8-19.
    2. Tighten the screws to secure the RAID controller card. See (2) in Figure 8-19.

  9. Connect the cable to the RAID controller card.

    For details, see Internal Cabling.

  10. Install the server node.

    For details, see Installing an XH321 V5.

  11. Power on the server node.

    For details, see Power-On Procedure.
