Installing a PGND Cable and Power Cable for an S5752/S5352/CE5855 Switch

Installing a PGND Cable and Power Cable for an S5752/S5352/CE5855 Switch

With a PGND cable and power cable installed, the S5752/S5352/CE5855 switch can be securely grounded and power supplied.

Prerequisites

  • Huawei cabinet-accompanying power distribution unit (PDU) or a third party's cabinet-accompanying power distribution device has been prepared.
  • All required tools have been prepared, containing Phillips screwdrivers, cable ties, diagonal pliers, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) gloves or an ESD wrist strap.
  • Operations described in Installing a GE Switch have been completed.
  • One end of a PGND cable has been secured to the ground terminal on the side of an S5752/S5352/CE5855 switch.

Context

For details about power distribution relationship of intra-cabinet components, see Overall Configurations.

Procedure

  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves.
  2. Verify that the PGND cable is connected to the ground terminal on one side of the switch.
  3. Connect the PGND cable to the cabinet.
    1. Adjust the length of the PGND cable by wrapping it into circles according to the distance to the ground terminal on the ground bar of the cabinet. Use a cable tie to bind the circles and diagonal pliers to trim off the excess of the cable tie, as shown in Figure 9-26.

    2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unfasten the M6 that is used to secure the PGND cable.
    3. Use the Phillips screwdriver to secure one end of the PGND cable to the ground terminal of the ground bar, as shown in Figure 9-27.

  4. Connect a power cable to the switch.
    1. Insert one end of the power cable to the corresponding port on the S5752/S5352/CE5855 switch, as shown in Figure 9-28.

    2. To ensure that devices can operate stably, connect power cables on a device supplied by two power modules to separate PDUs.

  5. Arrange and bind power cables.
