Installing a PGND Cable and Power Cable for a P25 or P12 Node

This section describes how to install a PGND cable and a power cable for a P25 and P12 node. These cables provide safe grounding and power supply for the P25 or P12 node.


  • Huawei cabinet-accompanying power distribution unit (PDU) or a third party's cabinet-accompanying power distribution device has been prepared.
  • All required tools have been prepared, containing Phillips screwdrivers, cable ties, diagonal pliers, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) gloves or an ESD wrist strap.


For details about power distribution relationship of intra-cabinet components, see Overall Configurations.


  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap (or ESD gloves) and insert its ground terminal into the ESD jack on the cabinet.
  2. Connect a PGND cable.
    1. Fetch a yellow-green PGND cable from the packing case of the cabinet.
    2. Remove the screw from a ground point of the P25 or P12 using a Phillips screwdriver.
    3. Put the OT terminal of one end of the PGND cable to the ground point, insert the screw, and tighten it, as shown in Figure 9-5.

  3. Connect the PGND cable to the cabinet.
    1. Adjust the length of the PGND cable by wrapping it into circles according to the distance to the ground terminal on the ground bar of the cabinet. Use a cable tie to bind the circles and diagonal pliers to trim off the excess of the cable tie, as shown in Figure 9-6.

    2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unfasten the M6 that is used to secure the PGND cable.
    3. Use the Phillips screwdriver to secure one end of the PGND cable to the ground terminal of the ground bar, as shown in Figure 9-7.

  4. Connect AC power cables.
    1. Determine the mapping relationship between intra-cabinet power cables and the node.
    2. Insert the D-type connector of the AC power cable into the power socket on the rear panel of the P25 or P12 node, as shown in Figure 9-8.

    3. Fix the power cable to an anti-loosening clip using a cable tie.

      1. Open the pin on the cable tie and slide the cable tie to the position where the AC power cable is connected to the connector, as shown in step 1 of Figure 9-9.
      2. Loosen the AC power cable tie, as shown in step 2 of Figure 9-9.
      3. Close the cable tie to buckle up the joint point of the AC power cable and the connector, as shown in step 3 of Figure 9-9. The AC power cable is fixed to the power socket of the storage device.

      Before closing the cable tie, adjust it to a position where it buckles up the AC power cable.

  5. Connect the other end of the power cable to the power port of the immediately adjacent PDU and then lock it up, as shown in Figure 9-10.

    To ensure that devices can operate stably, connect power cables on a device supplied by two power modules to separate PDUs.

  6. Arrange and bind power cables.
