Determining the Installation Location

Determining the Installation Location

Before installing the devices into the cabinet, you need to determine the installation location of each device to install the guide rails and floating nuts.

Prerequisites

  • Make sure that the cabinet has been installed and grounded.
  • Required installation tools and materials, including a marker, are ready.
  • For easy maintenance, ventilation, and heat dissipation, make sure that the cabinet is at least 1000 mm distant from the walls and at least 1200 mm distant from other cabinets.
  • To keep a convective air transfer between the cabinet and the equipment room, no enclosed space is allowed in the cabinet. It is recommended that 1 U (1 U = 44.45 mm) space be left above and below each device.

Procedure

  1. Determine the installation location of each device.

For the installation locations of devices, see Overall Configurations. Install the devices according to the specific installation environment.

    NOTE:
Each three square holes correspond to 1 U height. Each 1 U height is lined out with the scale mark. If no 1 U scale mark is lined out on the front and rear columns of the cabinet, line out the scale mark to facilitate installation location.

  2. Optional: Before installing adjustable guide rails for the cabinet, use a marker to mark the positions for installing adjustable guide rails and securing screws on the mounting bars.
