Installing a PGND Cable and Power Cable for a KVM

With a PGND cable and power cable installed, the keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) can be securely grounded and power supplied.

Prerequisites

  • Huawei cabinet-accompanying power distribution unit (PDU) or a third party's cabinet-accompanying power distribution device has been prepared.
  • All required tools have been prepared, containing Phillips screwdrivers, cable ties, diagonal pliers, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) gloves or an ESD wrist strap.

Context

For details about power distribution relationship of intra-cabinet components, see Overall Configurations.

Procedure

  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves.
  2. Connect a PGND cable and an AC power cable to the KVM, as shown in Figure 9-33.

Figure 9-33  Installing a PGND cable and AC power Cable to a KVM

    1. Connect one OT terminal of a yellow and green PGND cable to the ground point of the KVM.
    2. Connect and secure the other OT terminal of the PGND cable to the immediately adjacent ground point on the mounting bar of the cabinet
    3. Install an AC power cable and PGND cable to the KVM.
  3. Connect a power cable to a PDU port.

To ensure that devices can operate stably, connect power cables on a device supplied by two power modules to separate PDUs.

Connect the other end of the power cable to the power port of the immediately adjacent PDU and then lock it up, as shown in Figure 9-34.
