Licensing Requirements

The NTP IPv6 function is controlled by a license. By default, this function is disabled on newly purchased CloudEngine 12800 and 12800E series switches. To use the NTP IPv6 feature, apply for and purchase the license from the equipment supplier.

Feature Limitations

  • The existing configuration is not deleted when the NTP service function is disabled.

  • A device supports a total of 128 multicast servers, peers, unicast servers, 1024 NTP authentication keys, and 1024 multicast clients. However, only 128 multicast clients can take effect simultaneously.

  • A maximum of 128 sessions can be established on the same device running the NTP service, including static and dynamic sessions.

  • In the VS scenario, only Admin-VS supports NTP.
