Overview of Fault Management

Overview of Fault Management

Fault management efficiently manages and reports alarms generated on a device in a centralized manner.

When networks expand and become more complex, if a module on a device is faulty, a great number of alarms may be generated on one or more devices. The alarms, however, may be lost when being sent to the NMS due to the limited capability of handling alarms on the devices or the NMS. As a result, certain necessary alarms cannot be displayed, making network management difficult.

To efficiently collect valid fault information on the NMS, configure the alarm severity and alarm reporting delay function to efficiently manage and report alarms in a centralized manner.
