Mapping from Priorities to CoS Values (PHBs) and Colors in the Inbound Direction in the DiffServ Domain

  • Table 3-2 lists the mapping from 802.1p priorities to CoS values (PHBs) and colors in the inbound direction in the DiffServ domain.
  • Table 3-3 lists the mapping from DSCP priorities in IP packets to CoS values (PHBs) and colors in the inbound direction in the DiffServ domain.
  • Table 3-4 lists the mapping from EXP priorities in MPLS packets to CoS values (PHBs) and colors in the inbound direction in the DiffServ domain.
NOTE:
The mapping from interface priorities to CoS values (PHBs) and colors is similar to the mapping from 802.1p priorities to CoS values (PHBs) and colors. Colors are used to determine whether the packets are discarded and are independent of the mapping between internal priorities and queues.

Mapping from DSCP Priorities in IP Packets to Internal DSCP Priorities in the Inbound Direction in the DiffServ Domain

One DSCP priority in IP packets maps to one internal DSCP priority with the same value in a DiffServ domain in the inbound direction. That is, if the DSCP priority of IP packets in the inbound direction is 1, the corresponding internal DSCP priority is also 1, and so on. Table 3-9 lists the mapping from DSCP priorities in IP packets to internal DSCP priorities in the inbound direction in the diffServ domain.

One internal DSCP priority or color maps to one DSCP priority with the same value in IP packets in the outbound direction in a DiffServ domain.
