Enabling the IPv6 VXLAN Function

Enabling the IPv6 VXLAN Function

If the underlay network is an IPv6 network, you need to enable the IPv6 VXLAN function on the switch before configuring a VXLAN tunnel.

  • Skip this step on the CE12800E because you do not need to enable the IPv6 VXLAN function on the switch.

  • The IPv6 VXLAN function is mutually exclusive with TRILL and FCoE. The functions cannot be configured simultaneously.

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run ipv6 vxlan enable

The IPv6 VXLAN function is enabled.

By default, the IPv6 VXLAN function is disabled.

You can run this command in the Admin-VS only, and the configuration takes effect for all VSs.

  3. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.

Follow-up Procedure

After the IPv6 VXLAN function is enabled, you need to save the configuration and restart the switch to make the configuration take effect.
