Checking VXLAN Connectivity Using a Tracert Operation

Context

Perform the following operations on the VTEPs on the VXLAN to be checked.

Pre-configuration Tasks

Before locating a VXLAN tunnel fault using the tracert vxlan command, ensure that the VXLAN has been configured correctly.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. (Optional) Run nqa vxlanecho enable udp-port port-number [ source-ip-interface interface-type interface-number ]

    The VXLAN tracert function is enabled for the initiator.

    NOTE:

    This step is mandatory if the tracert vxlan command is to be run on the initiator with the -r replymode parameter set to 3. Otherwise, skip this step.

  3. Run nqa vxlanecho enable udp-port port-number [ source-ip-interface interface-type interface-number ]

    The VXLAN tracert function is enabled for the responder, and the number of the listening port on the VXLAN server is configured for the NQA test.

  4. Locate an IPv4 VXLAN tunnel fault.

    Run tracert vxlan [ -h maxttl | -t timeout | -r replymode | -a innersrc-address ] * vni vniid source source-address peer dest-address [ udp-port dest-port ] [ pipe ] [ load-balance { vxlan-source-udpport vxlan-source-udpport | { source-address lb-src-address destination-address lb-dst-address protocol { udp | lb-protocolid } source-port lb-src-port destination-port lb-dst-port source-mac lb-sourcemac destination-mac lb-destinationmac } } ]

    The device is configured to locate the IPv4 VXLAN tunnel fault.
