Configuring ETS

Configuring ETS

Pre-configuration Tasks

Enhanced transmission selection (ETS) provides flexible, hierarchical scheduling management to prevent interference and conflicts between services after Ethernet and storage networks of a data center is converged.

Before configuring ETS, complete the following tasks:
  • Configuring a link layer protocol so that interfaces at both ends of a link are Up
  • Priority Mapping Configuration (CE Switches Excluding CE6870EI and CE6875EI) or Priority Mapping Configuration (CE6870EI and CE6875EI) to map packet priorities to per-hop behaviors (PHBs)/colors

When the packet forwarding mode on the CE8860EI, CE8850EI, CE7855EI, CE7850EI, CE6860EI, CE6856HI, CE6855HI, CE6851HI, CE6850U-HI, and CE6850HI is set to Cut Through, the device does not support PFC. To use PFC, run the assign forward mode store-and-forward command to change the packet forwarding mode to store-and-forward.

The CE8860EI, CE8850EI, CE6860EI, and CE6810LI do not support ETS. Ensure that ETS parameters at both ends are consistent so that DCBX negotiation can be successful.
