Feature Limitations

  • If both priority mapping and Priority-based Flow Control (PFC) have been configured, exercise caution when modifying the mappings between the priorities of PFC-enabled queues and priorities in the DiffServ domain. Otherwise, PFC may not work.

  • A stack set up in a ring topology does not support the PFC function.

  • When the packet forwarding mode on a CE8868EI, CE8861EI, CE8860EI, CE8850EI, CE7855EI, CE7850EI, CE6865EI, CE6857EI, CE6860EI, CE6851HI, CE6850U-HI, CE6850HI, CE6856HI, or CE6855HI is set to Cut Through, the devices do not support PFC.

  • In V100R005C00 and later versions, to devices excluding CE6870EI and CE6875EI, when there are more than three priority groups, multiple priority groups share system resources. When a priority group has the remaining bandwidth, scheduling of the remaining bandwidth may be inaccurate.
  • In V200R002C50 and later versions, to CE6870EI and CE6875EI devices, if there are multiple queues in a priority group, when traffic in queues all exceeds the bandwidth, scheduling is accurate. When some traffic in queues exceeds the bandwidth and the total traffic exceeds the interface bandwidth, scheduling is inaccurate.

  • In V100R005C00 and later versions, when there are more than three priority groups, number of queues in only one priority group can be more than one.

  • The CE6810LI does not support enhanced transmission selection (ETS).

  • The CE8860EI, CE8850EI, CE6860EI, CE6865EI, CE6857EI, and CE6810LI do not support ETS. Ensure that ETS parameters at both ends are consistent so that DCBX negotiation can be successful.

  • The Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) service takes effect only after DCB negotiation is successful.

  • PFC and ETS are bound. After PFC is configured on CE6875EI and CE6870EI, traffic on an interface is scheduled in ETS mode.

  • PFC does not backpressure for traffic on the following loopback interfaces:

    • Loopback interface on the TRILL gateway

    • Loopback interface of VXLAN services

  • PFC and MACsec cannot be configured together on the same interface.
