The buffer-to-buffer credit (BB_Credit) is a flow control mechanism that determines the number of outgoing packets, and ensures no packet loss on a Fiber Channel (FC) interface. BB_Credit is calculated based on the maximum length of packets forwarded by an FC interface and available buffer of the FC interface.

The traffic statistics on an FC interface do not contain the inter-frame gap and preamble.


  • Set the maximum length of packets forwarded by an FC interface.
    1. Run system-view

      The system view is displayed.

    2. Run port mode fc interface-type interface-number

      An Ethernet interface is switched to an FC interface.

      By default, no FC interface exists on the device.

    3. Run interface fc fc-port-id

      The FC interface view is displayed.

    4. Run fc framesize framesize

      The maximum length of packets forwarded by the FC interface is set.

      By default, the maximum length of packets forwarded by an FC interface is 2148 bytes.

    5. Run commit

      The configuration is committed.

  • Run description (interface view)

    The description of the interface is configured.

  • Run port-mirroring observe-port observe-port-index { both | inbound | outbound }

    The mirroring function is configured on the interface.

  • Run device transceiver transceiver-type

    The medium type of the optical interface is pre-configured.

  • Run negotiation disable

    The Ethernet interface is configured to work in non-auto-negotiation mode.

  • Run port crc-statistics trigger error-down

    The interface is configured to transit to the Error-Down state when the number of received CRC error packets exceeds the alarm threshold.

  • Run port link-flap { interval interval-value threshold threshold-value | interval interval-value | threshold threshold-value }

    The link flapping detection interval and the maximum number of link flapping events are set.

  • Run port transceiver-power-low trigger error-down

    The optical interface is configured to transit to the Error-Down state when the optical power is too low.

  • Run trap-threshold { input-rate | output-rate } bandwidth-in-use [ resume-rate resume-threshold ]

    The alarm threshold for inbound and outbound bandwidth usage is configured for the interface.

  • Run trap-threshold crc-statistics threshold-value interval interval-value

    The alarm threshold of cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error packets and the alarm interval are configured.

  • Run transceiver non-certified-alarm disable

    The alarm function for optical modules that are not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches is disabled.

  • Run als enable

    Automatic laser shutdown (ALS) is enabled on the interface.

  • Run als restart

    The laser on the interface is restarted.
