Summary of CFM Configuration Tasks

Summary of CFM Configuration Tasks

After the CFM configuration is complete, CFM can detect network connectivity. CFM association can be configured as needed. To detect the connection status between two devices, use LB or LT.

Table 7-8 lists CFM configuration tasks.

Table 7-8 CFM configuration tasks

Task

Description

Link

Configure connectivity check functions.

CFM detects connectivity faults on an end-to-end link.

Configuring CC

Configure LB.

Similar to IP ping, LB monitors connectivity of a path between a MEP and an RMEP.

Configuring LB

Configure LT.

LT sends test packets and waits for a response to check whether the destination device is reachable.

Configuring LT

Configure CFM association.

CFM can be associated with interfaces and detection protocols to quickly report link faults, ensuring service reliability.
