Logging In to the CMC WebUI

NOTE:

This section describes how to log in to the CMC WebUI using Internet Explorer 9.0 on Windows 7.

Logging In to the CMC WebUI

  1. Configure an IP address for the PC used to log in to the CMC WebUI. Ensure that this IP address is in the same network segment as the CMC management IP address.
  2. Connect the PC to the CMC management network port by using a network cable.
  3. Open Internet Explorer, enter https://ipaddress/ in the address box, and press Enter.

    (In the URL, ipaddress indicates the IP address of the CMC management network port.)

    Default static IP addresses:

    • CMC1: 192.168.2.1
    • CMC2: 192.168.2.2

    Default floating IP address: 192.168.2.3

    You are advised to use the floating IP address to log in to the CMC WebUI.

  4. If the security alert dialog box shown in the following figure is displayed, click Continue to this website (not recommended).

  5. Enter your user name and password and click Log In. (The default user name and password are root and Huawei12#$ respectively.)

    NOTE:
    • If you log in to the CMC WebUI for the first time, a dialog box is displayed, prompting you to change the password. Determine whether to change the password immediately. If you want to change the password later, set Next Time to . To ensure system security, change your initial password at the first login and change the password periodically.
    • If you use Internet Explorer to log in to the CMC WebUI for the first time after an upgrade, the system may display a message indicating that the login fails due to an incorrect user name or password. To resolve the problem, press Ctrl+Shift+Del, and click Delete in the dialog box displayed to clear the cache of Internet Explorer. Then log in again.
    • If you cannot log in to the CMC WebUI by using Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options on the menu bar of Internet Explorer, click the Advanced tab, and click Reset. Then log in again.

  6. Choose Partition Management on the menu bar and then KPAR in the navigation tree.

  7. Click Remote Virtual Console. The CMC WebUI is displayed.

Changing the CMC Management IP Address

After logging in to the CMC WebUI, you must change the CMC management IP address according to the networking planning, and use the new IP address to log in afterwards.

  1. Choose System Management > Network Management.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Change the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. Then click Confirm.

  4. Use the new IP address to log in.
