Configuring RAID 1 (Two 600 GB SAS HDDs, for OS Installation)

The two 600 GB hard disks on the server are configured as a RAID 1 array for installing the OS. The RAID 1 OS disk configuration is required for both built-in disk planning and external storage planning.

  1. On the Advanced tab page in the BIOS, select the LSI SAS3108 RAID controller card, and press Enter to go to the configuration screen.

  2. Select Main Menu and press Enter.

  3. Select Clear Configuration and press Enter. All existing RAID configurations on the HDDs are cleared.

  4. Select Confirm and press Enter. Then select Enable and press Enter on the screen displayed.

  5. Select Yes and press Enter. Then select OK and press Enter on the screen displayed.

  6. On the Advanced screen displayed (if this screen is not displayed after you click OK and press Enter, press ESC), select Create Virtual Drive and press Enter.

  7. Select Select RAID Level and press Enter. Then select RAID1 on the screen displayed.

  8. Select Select Drives and press Enter. The Select Drives screen is displayed.

  9. Select two 600 GB SAS hard disks and enable them separately: Select a disk and press Enter. On the displayed screen, select Enable and press Enter. Perform the same operations on the other disk.

  10. Select Apply Changes and press Enter. Then select OK and press Enter on the screen displayed.

  11. Select Save Configuration.

  12. Select Confirm and press Enter. Then select Enable and press Enter on the screen displayed.

  13. Select Yes and press Enter. Then select OK and press Enter on the screen displayed.

  1. Press ESC to exit and go back to the Main Menu screen. You can see the existing RAID mode.
