Will User Services Be Affected During Wi-Fi Access Point Switching in a Smart Wi-Fi Coverage Network

Will User Services Be Affected During Wi-Fi Access Point Switching in a Smart Wi-Fi Coverage Network

Answer

  • For buffered services (such as video play), no obvious service interruption is sensitive to users during the switching.
  • For services that are not buffered (such as web browsing), services will be interrupted transiently (varying based on the user devices and Wi-Fi environments) during switching and will be restored to normal after the switching is completed.

The following table lists the reference data of service interruption duration in various switching scenarios.

NOTE:

The actual Wi-Fi switching duration is strongly related to factors including the user terminal type, operating system type and version, and Wi-Fi chip driver. Interference sources in the actual environment also need to be considered. Therefore, the data in the preceding table servers only reference.

User terminal examples in the reference data are as follows:

  • IOS device: iPhone 6
  • Android device: HuaWei Mate 7
  • Windows device: Lenovo YoGa1
