Monitoring Wi-Fi Performance

Monitoring Wi-Fi Performance

Diagnosing the Wi-Fi signal quality of the ONT or external access point (AP) on the NMS helps you to determine the Wi-Fi service status. With the historical quality analysis, it improves the capabilities of diagnosing and maintaining the Wi-Fi service.

Prerequisites

  • The user is with the operator authority or higher.
  • The OLT and the NMS communicate with each other properly.
  • The NMS is able to discover an online ONT and Wi-Fi service parameters are configured.

Procedure

  • Create a Wi-Fi performance monitoring instance.
    1. Choose Performance > Performance Monitoring Management from the menu.
    2. On the navigation tree, choose Performance Monitoring Management > NE > Access > GPON ONT > GPON ONT WIFI.
    3. Right-click in the blank area and choose Create.
    4. Set the filtering condition, that is, input the OLT address (for example, 10.167.223.81) in Source Name and click OK.

    5. Click Next to select the default monitoring profile.
    6. Click Next to configure the time information about the monitoring instance.
    7. Click Next to display the instance creation progress.
    8. Click Close.
  • Enable monitoring.
    1. In the Main Topology, double-click the required OLT in the Physical Root navigation tree; or right-click the required OLT and choose NE Explorer from the shortcut menu.

    2. Select the ONU to be monitored from the GPON ONU list, right-click, and choose Collect WiFi Info > Start to issue a collection task to the OLT.
  • Query the historical performance data of a monitoring instance.
    1. In the Main Topology, double-click the required OLT in the Physical Root navigation tree; or right-click the required OLT and choose NE Explorer from the shortcut menu.
    2. Choose GPON > GPON Management from the navigation tree.
    3. On the GPON ONU tab, enter the search criteria or click to query the ONU records.
    4. Select the ONU record to be operated, right-click, and choose Maintain ONT.

    5. On the Maintain ONT, click the WiFi Running Info tab, select the ONT whose data needs to be queried, and click Query. Then, you can see WiFi Devices, WiFi Statistics, Neighbor Information, and Neighbor Information(Graph) of this ONT.
    6. On the WiFi Running Info tab, select the ONT whose data needs to be queried, right-click, and choose Query WiFi Historical data. Then, the system redirects to the Browse Historical Performance Data tab and displays the performance data figure.
