Parameters

Name

Meaning

Alarm ID

Identifies an alarm. Each alarm is uniquely identified by an alarm ID and an alarm name.

Alarm Level

Specifies the impact of the fault on services.

Value:

  • Critical: indicates a fault that will severely affect services provided by the system if it is not rectified. This type of alarm must be handled immediately even if the fault occurs in non-working time. For example, if a device or resource becomes unavailable, the fault must be rectified immediately.
  • Major: indicates a fault that will affect service quality if it is not rectified. This type of alarm must be handled in a timely manner. For example, if the performance of a device deteriorates, the fault must be rectified within working hours in a timely manner.
  • Minor: indicates a fault that does not affect service quality. To prevent more serious faults, this type of alarm needs to be observed or handled if necessary.
  • Warning: indicates a fault that may affect service quality. This type of alarm must be handled based on the error type.

Alarm Title

Identifies an alarm. Each alarm is uniquely identified by an alarm ID and an alarm name.

Object Type

Specifies the type of the object for which the alarm is generated.

Alarm Object

Specifies the name of the object for which the alarm is generated.

Component Name

Specifies the name of the component for which the alarm is generated.

Generation Time

Specifies the time when the alarm is generated.

Clearing Time

Specifies the time when the alarm is cleared.

Clear Type

Specifies whether the alarm is manually or automatically cleared.

Operation

Specifies the operation that can be performed on the alarm.

Value: Manually Clear Alarm

Impact on the System

The database information at the DR site is incomplete. If the production site is faulty, the DR cannot be used and VMs cannot be logged in.

Possible Causes

  • The network is abnormal.
  • The network between the production site and DR site is abnormal.
  • The ITA northbound interface (NBI) account password is changed.
  • The database on the production site is abnormal.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the IP address in the additional information of alarm monitoring is consistent with the configured IP address.

    • If yes, go to Step 2.
    • If no, choose Task Center > Task Tracing. If the task for backing up production site database information is successful, manually clear the alarm; if the task fails, go to Step 2.

  2. Log in to the ITA server at the DR site as user gandalf, and check whether networks between the ITA servers at the production site and the database server are normal. Run ping -c 3 IP address of the ITA server at the production site and IP address of the database server to check whether the network is normal.

    • If yes, go to Step 4.
    • If no, go to Step 3.

The communication is normal if the information similar to the following is displayed:

      PING 192.168.190.2 (192.168.190.2) 56(84) bytes of data.
      64 bytes from 192.168.190.2: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.047 ms
      64 bytes from 192.168.190.2: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.057 ms
      64 bytes from 192.168.190.2: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.058 ms
(Note: The IP addresses are only examples. Use the actual IP addresses.)

  3. Locate and rectify the network fault.
  4. Obtain the NBI account password (systemman by default) of the ITA server at the production site, reconfigure the DR information at the DR site, and check whether the configuration is successful.

    • If yes, choose Task Center > Task Tracing to check whether the task for backing up production site database information is successful. If the task is successful, no further action is required; if the task fails, go to Step 5.
    • If no, view the error code and go to Step 5.

  5. Handle the errors.

    • 22006: indicates the NBI account password (systemman by default) of the ITA server at the production site is incorrect. Enter a correct password.
    • 22009: indicates that the DR site fails to connect to the database instance at the production site. Check whether the Database Server Abnormal alarm exists at the production site. If the alarm exists, handle the alarm according to the alarm guide.
    • Other error code: Contact Huawei technical support.
