Resetting a Password


Reset the password if you forget your password. The system allows users to change passwords on Windows or WI.

You must log in as user root before performing the following operation on LiteAD. If you log in as a non-root user, you must run the command su root to switch to user root and perform the operation.


You have logged in to the LiteAD server. For details, see Logging In to the LiteAD.


Data preparation is not required for this operation.


Resetting a User Password.

  1. On the LiteAD server, run the following command to reset a user password:

    samba-tool user setpassword Username

    For example, to change the password of the user JRS0001, run the following command:

    samba-tool user setpassword JRS0001

    If the command is run successfully, the following information is displayed:

    New Password:

  2. Enter a new password and press Enter. The following information is displayed:

    Changed password OK

  3. Check whether the password of a domain administrator is reset.

    • If yes, go to Step 4.
    • If no,no further operation is required.

Change the password of a domain administrator account on the FusionAccess System.

  1. Log in to FusionAccess System.
  2. Choose System > Initial Configuration > Domain/OU.

    The Domain/OU window is displayed.

  3. Locate the row that contains the domain whose configuration information is to be modified, and click.
  4. Enter the administrator account and password.
  5. Click OK.

    The LiteAD SSH Information window is displayed.

  6. Enter the password of the SSH account.

    The default password is Cloud12#$.

  7. Click OK.

    The domain administrator password is changed successfully.
