Configuring Network Information

Configuring Network Information

Scenario

This section describes how to create port groups on FusionCompute and deploy the VLANIF interface to configure the network information of infrastructure VMs.

For single classroom deployment, if the network segments for management and for services are the same one, that is, you set the port group of management segment as the students' port group, skip this section. For students' TCs, the IP addresses in the Lite AD DHCP address pool will be invoked.

Prerequisites

  • You have installed FusionCompute.
  • You have obtained the account and password for logging in to FusionCompute.
  • You have obtained the IP address of the switch.

Data

For required parameters, see specific procedures.

Procedure

Logging in to FusionCompute

  1. Log in to FusionCompute.

Creating a VLAN pool

  1. Choose Network > VLAN Pool.
  2. In the window displayed, add the VLAN ID as planned.
  3. Click OK.

A VLAN pool is created successfully.

Creating a port group
NOTE:
  • Create a port group for the management plane NICs of FusionAccess infrastructure VMs: During virtual platform establishment, the ManagementDVS and port group whose VLAN ID is 0 are automatically created. Therefore, the port group for the management plane NICs is set to the one whose VLAN ID is 0.
  • Create a port group for the service plane NICs of FusionAccess infrastructure VMs: During virtual platform establishment, if the management plane is integrated with the service plane, you are advised to create a port group for the service plane NICs on the ManagementDVS. If the management plane and service plane are separated, create a port group for the service plane NICs on the service distributed switch.
  • This operation uses distributed switch ManagementDVS as an example.
  1. On the FusionCompute portal, choose Network > site > ManagementDVS.
  2. Click Create Port Group and create a port group used by the service plane NICs of infrastructure VMs and user VMs as prompted.

Set the key parameters as follows:

    • Deselect DHCP quarantine.
    • Set Connection mode to VLAN.
    • Set VLAN to the ID of a VLAN in the VLAN pool.

Configuring the switch
NOTE:

The following configuration commands use an S5700 switch as an example. For details about other models of switches, see corresponding product manuals.

  1. Log in to the switch.
  2. Run the following commands to enable the DHCP function:

    <Quidway> system-view
    [Quidway] dhcp enable

  3. On the switch, run the following commands to configure a VLANIF interface for the port group used by the infrastructure VM and user VM service plane. Ensure that the VLANIF interface can communicate with the VLAN in Step 6.

    Table 3-12 Configuring VLANIF interfaces

    VLAN Type

    Procedure

    VLAN used by infrastructure VMs

    Configure VLANIF interfaces.

    [Quidway] interface vlanif vlan-id
    [Quidway-Vlanifx] ip address ip-address mask

For example, if the VLAN ID used by the infrastructure VM service plane is 181, the service plane gateway address is 192.168.181.1, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, run the following commands in sequence:

    [Quidway] interface vlanif 181

    [Quidway-Vlanif181] ip address 192.168.181.1 255.255.255.0

    VLAN used by user VMs

    1. Configure VLANIF interfaces.
      [Quidway] interface vlanif vlan-id
      [Quidway-Vlanifx] ip address ip-address mask

For example, if the VLAN ID used by the port group of students and teachers' VMs is 132, the gateway address is 192.168.132.1, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, run the following commands in sequence:

      [Quidway] interface vlanif 132

      [Quidway-Vlanif132] ip address 192.168.132.1 255.255.255.0

    2. Configure DHCP relays.
      [Quidway-Vlanif132] dhcp select relay
[Quidway-Vlanif132] dhcp relay server-ip DHCPservice plane IPaddress

For example, if the IP address on the DHCP service plane of FusionAccess is 192.168.131.66, run the following commands:

      [Quidway-Vlanif132] dhcp select relay

      [Quidway-Vlanif132] dhcp relay server-ip 192.168.131.66

  4. Return and save the configurations.

    [Quidway-Vlanifx] return
    <Quidway> save
