Scenarios

Set user account validity period on the LiteAD server.

You must log in as user root before performing the following operation on LiteAD. If you log in as a non-root user, you must run the command su root to switch to user root and perform the operation.

Prerequisites

You have logged in to the LiteAD server. For details, see Logging In to the LiteAD.

Data

Data preparation is not required for this operation.

Procedure

  1. On the LiteAD server, run the following command to set a user account to never expire:

    samba-tool user setexpiry --noexpiry Username

    For example, to set the account of the user JRS0001 to never expire, run the following command:

    samba-tool user setexpiry --noexpiry JRS0001

    If the command is run successfully, the following information is displayed:

    Expiry for user 'JRS0001' disabled.

  2. On the LiteAD server, run the following command to set validity period of a user account:

    samba-tool user setexpiry --days=Validity period Username

    For example, to set the account of the user JRS0001 to 60 days, run the following command:

    samba-tool user setexpiry --days=60 JRS0001

    If the command is run successfully, the following information is displayed:

    Expiry for user 'JRS0001' set to 60 days.
