Configuring a TC

Configuring Basic TC Information (Centerm TCs)

Scenario

This section describes how to configure basic TC information so that administrators can manage TCs using the Thin Client Manager (TCM).

NOTE:

The operations use a Linux TC as an example.

Prerequisites
  • The TC and TCM can communicate with each other, and a takeover is available.
  • The TC version meets the requirement. If the TC version is not the required one, upgrade it to the required one.
Procedure

Configuring an IP address for the TC

  1. Start the TC.
  2. Click Control Center in the lower left corner.
  3. Double-click Network.

    The Network window is displayed.

  4. Click Property.

    The Network Card window is displayed.

  5. Configure the IP address:

    • Teacher's TC: Select use the following IP address and enter the planned TC IP address.
    • Student's TC: Select obtain an IP address automatically.

  6. Click Save.

    The TC IP address is configured.

Configuring an IP address for the TCM

  1. Click CCCM Agent in the control center.

    The CCCM Agent window is displayed.

  2. Enter the server and port IP addresses on the specified management server and click OK.
  3. Enter the password and click OK.

    The TCM IP address is configured.

Configuring a terminal name

  1. Click Network in the control center.

    The Network window is displayed.

  2. Click the General tab.
  3. On the Terminal page, click Modify.

    The Terminal Name window is displayed.

  4. Change the terminal name to the planned one and click OK, as shown in Figure 3-41.

    NOTE:

    For details about how to plan terminal names for automatic grouping, see Client Group Management > Automatic Grouping in the Centerm Cloud Client Manager User Manual.

  5. Click OK.

    The configuration is complete.

Managing TC groups

  1. Log in to the TCM platform.
  2. On the Client Group tab page, the TC with the configured terminal name is automatically obtained and automatically grouped based on the terminal name.

Configuring Basic TC Information (Sunniwell TCs)

Scenario

This section describes how to configure the IP address, TCM IP address, and classroom alias for a new TC.

NOTE:

The operations use a Android TC as an example.

Prerequisites
  • A Windows PC and a USB flash drive are ready.
  • The TC and TCM can communicate with each other, and a takeover is available.
  • The TC version meets the requirement. If the TC version is not the required one, upgrade it to the required one.
Procedure

Configuring an IP address for the TC

  1. Start the TC.
  2. Choose > .

    The Settings window is displayed.

  3. Click Ethernet.
  4. Select DHCP and close the window.

    The TC IP address is configured.

Configuring an IP address for the TCM

  1. Choose > .

    The SWTMS TC Management Client window is displayed.

  1. Choose Setting > Auto Cofig.
  2. Click Finish.

    The TCM IP address is configured.

Configuring a terminal name

  1. Create the upgrade folder on the PC.
  2. In the upgrade folder, create a text file, write the following content, and save the file.

    prefix=SZ-HW-FA-     //Alias prefix
    startNumber=01      //Start number
    endNumber=99       //End number
    step=1            //Step

    For details about the alias prefix naming rules, see SWTMS Operation Guide > Device Management > Auto Group in the SWTMS_Server_Administrator_Guide.

  3. Rename the saved text file friendname.ini.
  4. Copy the upgrade folder to the USB flash drive.
  5. Insert the USB flash drive into the TCs one by one based on the site requirements to automatically configure the classroom alias.

Managing TC groups

  1. Log in to the TCM platform.
  2. Choose Android Auto Grouping. The TC with the configured classroom alias is automatically obtained.

Configuring Teachers' TCs

Scenario

This section describes how to configure screen-sharing display on TCs so that the teacher can share the desktop to the students' TCs.

Procedure
  1. Start the teacher's TC.
  2. On the WI page, click Advanced Settings.

    NOTE:
    • If the login page for the teacher does not appear, restart the TC.
    • If erratic display occurs on the login page, press F6 to solve the problem.

    The Settings dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 3-42.

  3. In the dialog box that is displayed, click the Share Screen tab, select Enable Shared Screen Reception, and deselect Use an encrypted connection.
  4. Click OK.

Configuring Students' TCs

Scenario
This describes how to deliver the login-free function to students' TCs, configure LazeDesk, enable the single-instance mode, and configure duplicate display and shutdown linkage.
  • Deliver the login-free function to students' TCs so that students can log in to the system without entering the password.
  • Configure LazyDesk to ensure that the TC can be used only to log in to the FusionAccess system.
  • Enable the single-instance mode so that the user's login to the original VM will disconnect when the user logs in to another VM.
  • Configure duplicate display so that the teacher can display the teacher's desktop to all students.
  • Configure shutdown linkage so that the TC can be shut down as the VM is properly shut down.
Prerequisites
  • You have obtained the account and password for logging in to TCM.
  • You have obtained the document required by TCs in Documents based on the site TC usage.
  • TCs have been grouped.

NOTE:

The defaultserver item is used to configure a default server for the client.

  • Set Primary address to the service plane IP address of the WI server.
  • The student's VM username and password are used to deliver the login-free function to students' TCs.
  • For Password, deliver the password after encoding the password by Base64. You can search for a tool to encode the password online. For example, if the password is set to Huawei@123, encode it as SHVhd2VpQDEyMw==, and then deliver it to students' TCs.
Procedure
  1. Perform operations based on the TC type.

    • For Centerm TCs, go to Step 2.
    • For Sunniwell TCs, go to Step 8.

Configuring Centerm TCs

  1. Log in to the TCM platform.
  2. Right-click the name of the classroom to be provisioned, and choose CloudClient Configuration, as shown in Figure 3-43.

    The CloudClient Configuration window is displayed.

  3. Enter all the parameters planned in Table 3-19 and use semicolons (;) to separate each configuration item, as shown in Figure 3-44.

  4. Click Apply to deliver the configuration to students' TCs.

    NOTE:

    If the configuration has been manually delivered to student TCs, the configuration cannot be automatically delivered to these TCs. To automatically deliver configurations, run the Clear Configuration command to clear the manually delivered configurations of these TCs.

  5. Choose Task Management > Policy Center Task to see whether the task is complete.
  6. Right-click the name of the group to which the TC belongs and choose Power Control > Restart to make the TC configuration take effect.

    The configuration is complete.

Configuring the Sunniwell TC

  1. Log in to the TCM platform.
  2. Open the Cloud Client Config file. For details, see SWTMS Operation Guide > Device Management > Write Parameter in the SWTMS_Server_Administrator_Guide.
  3. Enter all the parameters planned in Table 3-19 and use semicolons (;) to separate each configuration item, as shown in Figure 3-45.

  4. Click Confirm.
  5. Click Confirm twice as prompted.

    The configuration is complete.
