Setting the OS Boot Device to CD/DVD-ROM (XEN)

Setting the OS Boot Device to CD/DVD-ROM (XEN)

You need to set the OS boot device to CD/DVD-ROM if the OS needs to be installed on a Linux Infrastructure VM. Generally, after the VM is mounted to a CD/DVD-ROM drive and automatically restarts, you can select to install the OS using a CD/DVD-ROM drive as prompted. If you miss the selection, you need to manually set the OS boot device to CD/DVD-ROM.

You have logged in to FusionCompute.

  1. On FusionCompute, choose VM and Template > VM.
  2. Click the target VM name to go to the VM details page.
  3. Click the Hardware tab, click CD/DVD-ROM drive in the left pane, and configure the drive information about the VM.

    • If mounted is displayed, skip this step.
    • If unmounted is displayed, mount the VM to the CD/DVD-ROM drive on the current page.

  4. Click the Options tab, click Boot Device in the left pane, and set the boot device to CD/DVD-ROM.
