Changing the Operating System Host Name

Different host names must be configured for the active and standby servers.

Procedure

The following operations need to be performed on both the active and standby eSight servers.

  1. Use the VNC to log in to the operating system as the root user.
  2. Run the following command to access the YaST2 Control Center window.

    # yast2

    NOTE:

    If the tool window is not displayed in the Linux operating system, rectify the fault according to What Can I Do If the Tool Window Is Not Displayed in the Linux Operating System.

  3. Select Network Devices and click Network Settings.

  4. On the Hostname/DNS tab change, change the host name.

    NOTE:

    Different host names must be configured for the active and standby servers.

    For example, the active server name is eSightServer1 and the standby server name is eSightServer2.

  5. Click OK.
