Connecting the Active and Standby Servers

After installing the active and standby servers of eSight, you need to connect them to form an HA system.

Procedure

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the active eSight server as the root user through the system IP address.

    NOTE:
    • The default root password is Changeme123.
    • The active eSight server is the planned active server.

  2. Run the following commands to connect the active and standby eSight servers:

    # cd /opt/ommha/config

    # chmod u+x config.sh

    # ./config.sh

  3. Enter 1 to select local-HA.

  4. Enter the system, heartbeat, and system floating IP addresses of the active server as prompted.

    Please input local system ip address:

    Please input float ip address:
    >10.10.10.3

  5. Configure the southbound and northbound service isolation as prompted.

    • In the southbound and northbound service isolation scenario, type y, press Enter, and enter the planned floating IP address of the southbound and northbound service isolation.
      Enter 'y' to apply the setting of South IP Address or 'n' to ignore (y/n):
      >y
      Please input south float ip address:
      >10.10.11.3
    • In the scenario where southbound services are not isolated from northbound services, type n and press Enter.
      Enter 'y' to apply the setting of South IP Address or 'n' to ignore (y/n):
      >n

  6. Enter the system and heartbeat IP addresses of the standby server as prompted.

    Please input remote system ip address:
    >10.10.10.2
    Please input remote heartbeat ip address:
    >192.168.100.20

  7. Confirm the configurations. If yes, enter y. If no, enter n and modify the configuration.

    Enter 'y' to apply these values and proceed to the next step, or 'n' to return to make any changes (y/n):
    >y 

  8. Enter the root user of the standby server's password as prompted.

    NOTE:

    The default root password is Changeme123.

    Please input remote root password: 

  9. Check whether resource status (ResStatus) of the active and standby servers are normal in the command output based on Table 1-1. If the status is normal, the operation is successful. Otherwise, contact Huawei technical support engineers.

    If the value of HAActive is active, the corresponding node is the active server. If the value of HAActive is standby, the corresponding node is the standby server.

    NOTE:

    The initialization process takes about 15 minutes.
