Registering a VM Image

Registering a VM Image

A VM image is a duplicate of a VM and includes the operating system and application software. The prepared eSight image file can be registered with the FusionSphere OpenStack Management Console. After being registered, the image can be used to create computing instances.

Procedure

  1. Decompress the eSight image package eSight_OSImg_V300R009C00SPC200_MySQLHA_SUSE_FS_qcow2_en.zip in a local PC to obtain the image file eSight_OSImg_V300R009C00SPC200_MySQLHA_SUSE_FS_qcow2_en.qcow2.

In the information, VxxxRxxxCxxSPCxxx indicates the software package version. Replace it with the actual one.

  2. Log in to the FusionSphere OpenStack management console. The Google Chrome browser is recommended.

    1. Perform the following operations to log in to the FusionSphere OpenStack management console:

Enter https://IP address of the FusionSphere OpenStack reverse proxy:8890 to log in to the installation deployment page of the FusionSphere OpenStack, choose Cloud Service > FusionSphere OpenStack OM, and click the FusionSphere OpenStack OM link to access the FusionSphere OpenStack management console.

    2. Set the view type to the administrator view, enter the user name and password, and log in.

Set the user name and password to those collected in section "Collecting Information."

  3. Choose Resources > Computing > Images from the main menu and then click Register on the Images page.
  4. Select an image file and set related parameters.
