Checking System Installation

After the active and standby servers form an HA system, verify the system to ensure that it functions properly.

Procedure

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the active eSight server as the ossuser user through the system IP address.

    NOTE:

    The default ossuser password is Changeme_123.

  2. Run the following command to check the system running status:

    > cd /opt/ommha/ha/bin

    > ./status.sh

    Information similar to the following is displayed:

    If information displayed in the ResStatus column is similar to Table 6-1, the system is installed properly. Otherwise, contact Huawei system engineers for help.

  3. Log in to the eSight from the client web browser.

    1. In the address box, enter https://eSight System floating IP address:31943, and press Enter.
      NOTE:
      • To set the client web browser, see Setting the Client Web Browser in eSight Operation Guide.
      • If the message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." is displayed, see What Do I Do If eSight Displays a Security Certificate Error During Login.
      • If the browser is not equipped with a flash player, download and install Adobe Flash Player provided by eSight. Otherwise, some pages cannot be displayed normally.
      • If you set the server IP address to localhost or 127.0.0.1 on the eSight server, the security certificate cannot be installed.
    2. If the certification authentication login is configured, the eSight home page is displayed automatically. Otherwise, you need to enter the user name admin and the default password Changeme123, and click Login.

      You must change the password when you log in to eSight for the first time. Keep the new password safe. If you forget the password of the admin user, you have to reinstall eSight to restore the default password.

    3. After login, click at the upper right corner, and verify that the current version is the target version.

  4. Log in to the maintenance tool from the client browser.

    1. In the address box, enter https://eSight System floating IP address:31945, and press Enter.
    2. On the maintenance tool login page, enter the user name sys and the default password Changeme123 and click Login.
      NOTE:

      You must change the password when you log in to maintenance tool for the first time.

    3. Choose System > System Monitoring, and check whether the Connection status of Server Information is Online. If not, contact Huawei technical support engineers.
