Installing eSight in Full Image Mode
This section describes how to install the eSight HA system. Installation personnel must strictly follow the eSight two-node system installation process.
- Registering a VM Image
A VM image is a duplicate of a VM and includes the operating system and application software. The prepared eSight image file can be registered with the FusionSphere OpenStack Management Console. After being registered, the image can be used to create computing instances. - Creating VM Specifications
Before creating a VM, you need to create a VM specification based on the installation plan. If VM specifications that meet the requirements exist in the FusionSphere, you do not need to create them again. - Creating an Affinity Group
The VMs where eSight is deployed must belong to the same anti-affinity VM group. Before creating a VM, you need to create an affinity group on the ServiceCenter. - Creating a VM
You can create two VMs on the ServiceCenter of the tenant plane and use the VMs as the active and standby eSight servers. - Enabling the VM Watchdog
When the disk array of the VM where eSight is installed is intermittently disconnected, you need to use the watchdog to trigger the operating system restart. - Configuring the OS
After you create a VM, the OS has been installed, but you need to perform the following operations. The operations for configuring the OSs on the active and standby servers are the same. - Connecting the Active and Standby Servers
After installing the active and standby servers of eSight, you need to connect them to form an HA system. - (Optional) Disabling Remote Login Using SSH for the root User
To improve system security, you need to disable remote login using SSH for the root user.
